Mahindra launches limited edition XUV500 Sportz at Rs. 13.68

Mahindra has launched a limited edition of the XUV500 called the 'Sportz' at a price of Rs. 13.68 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai).

The Sportz is based on the W8 variant of the XUV500 and features cosmetic changes like decals on the hood and sides, alloy wheels with red inserts, fog lamps and door handles with red accents, red roof rails and 'Sportz' badging on the body.

Coming to the interior, the Sportz gets new leather-fabric seats. The new variant features all the equipment that is found on the W8 variant like a 6-inch touchscreen infotainment system with satellite navigation, multi-function steering and automatic climate control. Additionally, a reverse camera has been provided.

Safety features include 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, ESP with rollover mitigation, hill hold and hill descent control.

The Sportz is mechanically identical to the other variants of the XUV500. It will continue to be powered by the 2.2-litre, 4-cylinder mHawk diesel engine that produces 140 bhp @ 3750 rpm and 330 Nm of  torque @ 1600-2800 rpm and is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission.

Only 1,000 units of the XUV500 Sportz will be made.
