Mercedes-Benz S350 CDI launched in India at Rs. 1.07 crore

German luxury carmaker, Mercedes-Benz has added a diesel variant of the S-Class sedan to its line-up of cars in India with the launch of the S350 CDI. The car is priced at Rs. 1.07 crore (ex-showroom, Pune).

The S350 CDI is powered by a 3.0-litre, V6, turbocharged diesel engine that develops 255 bhp @ 3600 rpm and 620 Nm of torque @ 1600-2400 rpm. Power is transmitted to the rear wheels through a 7G-TRONIC Plus automatic gearbox. Mercedes-Benz claims that the car can accelerate from 0-100 kph in 6.8 seconds and touch an electronically limited top speed of 250 kph.

The S350 CDI is loaded with features like LED headlamps, panoramic sunroof, seven-colour ambient interior lighting, two 31.2 cm TFT screens, multi-function steering wheel and massaging seats. Safety features include eight airbags, ESP, brake assist, adaptive brakes with hold function, hill start assist and park assist.

Additionally, Mercedes-Benz is offering a unique chauffeur training program that will involve comprehensive training for chauffeurs on the new S-Class technology and lifestyle features.

The S350 CDI will be assembled at the Mercedes-Benz plant in Chakan, near Pune. It will compete with the Audi A8L 3.0 TDI, BMW 730Ld and Jaguar XJ 3.0L.
