Land Rover Defender Diesel silently launched at Rs. 94.36L

Offered in the D300 AWD trim, the 2,996cc turbo-diesel engine is rated at 296 BHP and 650 Nm. It is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission.

Till now, the Land Rover Defender has been available in India with 2.0-litre and 3.0-litre turbocharged petrol engines. Now, the SUV has been silently launched with a 3.0-litre turbocharged diesel engine. The diesel version is priced between Rs. 94.36 lakh and Rs. 1.08 crore (ex-showroom Delhi).

Both the 3-door and the 5-door variants get this diesel engine. Offered in the D300 AWD trim, the 2,996cc turbo-diesel engine is rated at 296 BHP and 650 Nm. It is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission and a four-wheel drive system. The company claims a 0-100 km/h time of 6.7 seconds for the Defender 90 and 7 seconds for the Defender 110 powered by this engine.

Apart from the petrol and diesel offerings, bookings for the plug-in hybrid variant are also open.
