Lamborghini Aventador S launched in India at Rs. 5.01 crore

Lamborghini has launched the Aventador S in India at a price of Rs. 5.01 crore (ex-showroom). It is basically an upgraded version of the standard supercar, which gets enhanced output figures, some new mechanical additions and a slightly tweaked design.

The upgraded model also gets some cosmetic tweaks, including a new bumper with a larger air dam that is claimed to develop around 130% more downforce, as compared to the standard model. Additionally, the rear gets a new wing and a larger diffuser integrated into the bumper.

The Aventador S is powered by the same 6.5-litre naturally aspirated V12 engine that is found on the regular model. Output figures are rated at 730 BHP @ 8,400 rpm and 690 Nm @ 5,500 rpm, while transmission duties are handled by a 7-speed ISR (independent shifting rods) automatic gearbox. This powertrain is capable of accelerating the Aventador S from 0-100 km/h in a company-claimed time of 2.9 seconds. Top speed is limited to 350 km/h.

Lamborghini has further made some mechanical additions to the Aventador S. These include a four-wheel steering system, a new exhaust system and an updated suspension setup. It also gets 'EGO' drive mode that joins the three existing modes: Strada, Sport and Corsa. The updated supercar also gets a digital TFT instrument cluster that can be customised as per the driver's requirements.
