According to a media report, Kia will launch the new Carens in India next month. It will be sold alongside the current model. As you may be aware, an electric version of the Carens is also in the works, and is expected to go on sale in June 2025.
The new Carens will feature several cosmetic updates on the outside. Spy images suggest that the car will retain the split headlamp setup but with L-shaped LED DRLs, while the rear will feature vertically stacked LED taillights connected by an LED light bar. The Carens will also come with new 2-tone alloy wheels.
Top variants of the Carens are expected to be equipped with a panoramic sunroof. It could also get advanced safety features like a 360-degree camera and Level 2 ADAS.
Under the hood, the Carens facelift is expected to retain the current set of engines. These include the 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol, 1.5-litre turbo-petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engines.
The Carens EV is expected to have a similar design, except for a few EV-specific changes such as a blanked-off grille and aero-optimized wheels.
