JLR launches InControl Apps - smartphone integration platform

Jaguar Land Rover India has announced the launch of InControl Apps, a new smartphone integration platform, which has been developed jointly with Bosch. The platform will deliver integrated in-vehicle app connectivity for Android and Apple smartphones.

The InControl Apps platform transfers the interface from the phone to the in-car infotainment touchscreen, to allow users access to various apps. Jaguar Land Rover claims that the developers have worked with third party app developers, specifically in India, to enable access to an initial suite of Android and iOS compatible applications. The India-customised platform is said to allow access to apps in India like such as NDTV, Hungama, MapmyIndia and Zomato.

A present, InControl Apps is available on the 2016 Model Year Range Rover, Range Rover Sport, and Discovery Sport. It will be made available on other Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles subsequently.
