Jimny's propellor shaft issue more common than initially expected?

A formal Field Technical Report has been filed and if MSIL can solve it, there could be a recall.

BHPian hemanth.anand recently shared this with other enthusiasts.

It's definitely not a one-off issue. It's a common issue and my car also has this.

Just a background...My car had completed 21000kms by this time with a good amount of off-roading as well (Rock N Road competitions, Spiti Valley drive, some off-road track in Chikkamagaluru and Sakaleshpura)

In between on 19th June, there was an office dinner event at a nearby restaurant where I had 2 of my well-built colleagues sitting at the rear. There were quite a few of those plastic speedbreakers between this. Another colleague and I sitting at the front could feel some vibrations like a suspension bottoming. I was perplexed as to how the suspension could bottom out for just a speed breaker. Only after I took the picture on the 22nd, I understood what it was!

A basic design miss!!

There are some aftermarket suspension kits available in Australia that come with a cross-member component too that is slightly different and doesn't rub with the propeller shaft. Although I don't know how effective they are, MSIL can look into it and redesign it.

I'm also part of the Jimny group SimplyJimny. Many Jimnys have this issue and a formal Field Technical Report has been filed and if MSIL can solve it, there could be a recall.

I'll be honest here, I have zero expectations from this company when it comes to such topics. I'd be really surprised if MSIL will issue a recall.
