Indonesia: Honda Brio facelift unveiled

Honda has revealed a refreshed version of the Brio hatchback in Indonesia. The car gets changes to both - its exteriors and interiors.

The refreshed Brio gets a front end similar to the one we have seen on the Amaze facelift that was launched in India earlier this year. It has a wider grille with a thick horizontal slat in the middle, a redesigned bumper with a honeycomb mesh grille and new fog lamp housings. At the rear, the car gets a thick chrome strip on the tailgate just above the bumper and an LED stop lamp. The car rides on new 14-inch alloy wheels. For the Indonesian market, Honda has also introduced an RS variant of the Brio with 15-inch alloy wheels, side skirts, projector headlamps and LED position lamps.

On the inside, the Brio gets a new beige and black dashboard with silver inserts and a redesigned centre console. There is a new 2-DIN JVC audio system and a climate control unit. The RS variant comes with a 6.2-inch touchscreen infotainment unit.

The refreshed Brio uses the same 1.2-litre petrol engine as the outgoing model. However, the power plant now produces 89 BHP and 110 Nm of torque - 1 BHP and 1 Nm more than the outgoing model. While the 5-speed manual gearbox has been retained, the 5-speed conventional automatic gearbox has been replaced by a CVT.

According to a report by Overdrive, the refreshed Brio is expected to go on sale in India by the end of 2016.
