Indonesia: 7-seater Kia Sonet unveiled

The 7-seater Sonet is slightly longer than the car sold in India.

Kia has revealed the 7-seater Sonet that will go on sale in the Indonesian market later this year.

The 7-seater Sonet is slightly longer than the car sold in India. It measures 4,120 mm in length, 1,790 mm in width, 1,642 mm in height and its wheelbase is 2,500 mm.

In terms of design, the 7-seater Sonet is identical to its 5-seater counterpart. The third row of seats are fairly small and takes up all the boot space. The rear seats can be accessed by folding the second row which has a 60:40 split. The third row of seats gets adjustable headrests and can also be folded if one needs to store luggage.

The Sonet 7-seater comes equipped with a digital instrument cluster and a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system that is compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The car has ventilated front seats, rear AC vents, ambient lighting, wireless charging, 7-speaker Bose audio system and UVO connect features.

Powering the Sonet 7-seater is the 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine that makes 113 BHP and 144 Nm. The engine is mated to either a 6-speed manual or IVT transmission.
