Indian Chief Dark Horse priced at Rs 21.99 Lakh

Polaris Industries subsidiary Indian Motorcycles has just launched the Indian Chief Dark Horse in India at a price of Rs 21,99,999/- (ex-showroom Delhi). This prices it around Rs 3.50 Lakh below the Chief Classic. The Dark Horse is the first model year 2015 product by the brand and the most affordable variant under Indian's Chief range. While the Dark Horse starts at $16,999 (INR 10.60 Lakh approx.) in the USA, the price in India rises significantly after import duties, given that it too will be sold as a CBU.

The Dark Horse is mainly identified by its matte black paint job and default single seater configuration. A pillion seat can be added as an accessory. It is powered by the Thunder Stroke 111 engine that makes 138.9 Nm of torque and shares its chassis and suspension with the Indian Chief Classic. The Dark Horse gets ABS, a remote key fob for keyless ignition, electronic cruise control, and features a two-year unlimited mileage factory warranty.

It loses out on features such as the oil cooler, analogue fuel gauge and driving lights (lights that complement the headlight at either side). The chrome touches are also limited to trimmings on the fenders, engine cover and levers. The wheels switch from spokes to alloys, while the tyre whitewall is also skipped to maintain the dark black theme.
