India: Hiroaki Fujita appointed Chairman for Yamaha India

Hiroaki Fujita will officially be appointed as the Chairman of Yamaha Motor Group Companies (MGC) in India. He will be heading India Yamaha Motor (IYM), Yamaha Motor India Sales (YMIS) and Yamaha Motor Research & Development India (YMRDI). Fujita will assume his post from current head, Hiroyuki Suzuki effective 1st January, 2015.

Hiroaki Fujita's association with Yamaha dates back over 32 years. Prior to this position, the 54 year old Yamaha veteran held the post of Executive General Manager at the Intelligent Machinery (IM) division. Fujita has also been an Executive Officer at Yamaha Motor Co (YMC) since 2011.

Yamaha India currently manufactures its motorcycles at the company's plants, located in Surajpur, Uttar Pradesh & Faridabad, Haryana. The Japanese automakers' locally made range in India includes 3 scooters and 14 motorcycles. CBU offerings include the FZ1, VMAX and soon to be updated R1.
