Hyundai Kona teased ahead of global premiere

Hyundai has released a set of teaser images and a trailer video of the Kona compact crossover. The vehicle is expected to be globally premiered in the coming months.

While Hyundai hasn't revealed the complete design of the Kona, it has already been spotted testing without any camouflage. These earlier spy shots have indicated that the Kona's design will mark a departure from the company's regular design philosophy. The crossover gets aggressive design cues including a two tier headlamp setup, with slimmer DRL units placed above, while larger lamps are located slightly below the regular position and are housed in beefy plastic cladding that extends from the wheel arches.

The Kona is expected to come with dual-tone colour schemes, in addition to the regular colour options. The earlier spotted model also indicated the presence of large alloy wheels with low profile tyres.

The released trailer video points towards the presence of heads up display in the Kona. The heads up display will include an 8-inch display that will pop up from the speedometer dome and will project information in the driver's field of sight.

Details about the powertrain options that will be introduced with the Kona aren't known yet. However, speculations suggest that the compact crossover will come with an all-wheel drive system as an option.
