Hyundai Kona electric SUV spied in India

A test mule of the Hyundai Kona electric SUV has been spotted in India. The electric vehicle (EV) is expected to be launched sometime next year.

The Kona EV has black cladding around the wheel arches, door sills and rear bumper. At the front, it has slim LED DRLs, while the headlamps are positioned on either side of the front bumper. The car does not have a conventional grille. Instead, it gets textured white plastic with a grey insert. At the rear, the car has double stacked tail lamps and a tailgate with an integrated spoiler. The test car can be seen sporting 17-inch alloy wheels.

The Kona EV is expected to be powered by an electric motor that produces 132 BHP and 395 Nm of torque and equipped with 39.2 kWh lithium-ion battery pack that is claimed to offer a range of 312 km on a single charge. According to Hyundai, the Kona EV can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 9.7 seconds and has a top speed of 155 km/h.

The Hyundai Kona electric SUV will be imported into India as a completely knocked down (CKD) unit.
