Hyundai is gearing up to introduce new variants of the Creta. The compact SUV is available in petrol and diesel versions and at present, the petrol is available only with a manual gearbox. The Creta petrol will now come with a 6-speed automatic transmission as well. The automatic transmission will be available in the SX+ variant of the car.

The 1.6-litre diesel version of the Creta is available with 6-speed manual and automatic transmissions. At present, the automatic gearbox is available in the SX+ trim level only. The transmission will now be available in the S+ variant as well.

Earlier this year, Renault launched an automated manual transmission version of the Duster diesel. Priced between Rs. Rs. 11.67 lakh and Rs. 12.87 lakh, it is significantly cheaper than the Creta diesel automatic. The introduction of the automatic transmission in the S+ variant will allow Hyundai to price the Creta diesel automatic closer to the Duster.

Hyundai will also provide driver and passenger airbags and ABS + EBD as a part of the standard equipment on all variants of the Creta.
