Hyundai could bring third-generation Tucson to India

Hyundai is considering the expansion of its SUV model line-up in India. According to a media report, the company is likely to introduce the third generation Tucson in the country in the future.

The Tucson was revealed at the Geneva Motor Show, which was held earlier this year. It follows Hyundai's Fluidic design language. Like other Hyundai SUVs, it has a hexagonal front grille with horizontal slats, sweptback projector headlamps, character lines on its sides, a roof that slopes down towards the rear, a window line that rises towards the rear, skid plates, roof rails, alloy wheels, an integrated rear spoiler and and wraparound tail lamps. 

The interiors of the Tucson are black with silver inserts. The car is equipped with a multifunction steering wheel, climate control, leather upholstery and a touchscreen infotainment system, among other features.

The Tucson comes with a host of safety features as well. Euro New Car Assessment Program has given the car a 5-star rating.

Engine options for the include 1.6-litre petrol and 1.7-litre and 2.0-litre diesel units. A choice of manual and automatic transmissions is available as well and certain variants get four-wheel drive as well.

Hyundai will position the Tucson between the Creta and Santa Fe.
