Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) was among the top 3 best-selling luxury car brands in India in FY2025. The Tata-owned British carmaker beat its German rival Audi to secure the third spot behind Mercedes-Benz and BMW.
JLR sold 6,183 units in FY2025, recording a massive 40% growth over the previous fiscal when merely 4,417 units were sold. Whereas Audi sales were down 15% from 7,027 units to 5,990 units.
JLR's impressive performance can be attributed to the popularity of models like the Defender and the locally manufactured Range Rover and Range Rover Sport.
According to Rajan Amba, MD of JLR India, the Defender was the highest-selling model in FY2025, registering a growth of 90%. Range Rover and Range Rover Sport sales were up by 72% and 42%, respectively.
Mercedes-Benz continues to lead the luxury car market with 18,928 units sold during FY2025. BMW sold 15,266 units, registering a nominal growth of 5%.
