Honda India starts exporting left-hand-drive cars

The first batch of the left hand drive Honda City has been shipped to the Middle East.

Honda Cars India Ltd. has announced that it will export the fifth generation City to left hand drive markets.

The carmaker has started production of the left hand drive Honda City and the initial batch of cars has left for the Middle East. The cars will be shipped from the Pipavav port in Gujarat and Ennore port in Chennai.

The made-in-India Amaze, WR-V and City are being exported to South Africa (a right hand drive market) since August 2020. Honda has also been exporting these cars to Nepal and Bhutan since October last year.

With the addition of left hand drive markets, Honda is targeting a 3-fold increase in its export volumes from India.
