Honda CBR250RR not coming to India

Yadvinder Guleria, Vice President of Honda Motorcycles & Scooters India Ltd., has reportedly confirmed that the company will not be bringing the new CBR250RR to India. Moreover, the CBR300R won't be launched here either. One of these two bikes was earlier expected to replace the ageing Honda CBR250R in the Indian market. There is still no clarity about whether the company has ruled out both these motorcycles for India permanently, or the Vice President was talking about the immediate plans.

Mr. Guleria further added that the company is focusing on bringing in new models of its existing range of products. These new models will get updates to make them Euro IV compliant and will come with features that are expected to get mandatory in the near future, including Auto Headlamp On (AHO).

The Honda CBR250RR recently made its world debut in Indonesia. It is powered by a newly developed 249.7 cc, liquid cooled, straight-twin engine that is mated to a 6-speed gearbox. Presence of Throttle-by-Wire (TbW) system offers 3 selectable riding modes.

Meanwhile, Honda will launch the CFR1000L Africa Twin in India next year. It will be brought into India as CKD Units, which will help the two-wheeler manufacturer to price it aggressively.
