Hero Passion iSmart spotted at dealership

A spy shot of the Hero Passion iSmart has surfaced on the internet, which shows the upcoming motorcycle parked at what looks like a company dealership. This means that the Passion is likely to receive Hero's in-house iSmart technology soon. This technology is aimed at increasing efficiency and reducing emissions. The source of the spy shots claims that Hero is gearing up to launch the bike on September 26, ahead of the upcoming festive season.

The Passion iSmart is likely to be powered by the company's indigenously developed 110 cc air cooled engine that churns out 8.9 BHP and 9 Nm of torque, while being mated to a 4-speed constant mesh gearbox. This engine will be equipped with Hero's patented i3S technology, which is essentially an automatic start-stop system that helps in increasing the fuel economy of the motorcycle. This technology was first introduced in the Splendor commuter bike.

Cosmetic updates on the bike will be limited to some new colour options and body graphics. It will also come with the Auto Headlamp On (AHO) feature, that will soon be made mandatory for all bikes in India.

The Hero Passion series is regularly a part of the top 5 selling motorcycles in the country. It is currently offered in three variants - Passion Pro, Passion XPro and Passion Pro TR. With the Passion iSmart, Hero will be aiming to increase its lead over competitors like the TVS Victor, Honda Livo, Mahindra Centuro and Yamaha Saluto RX.
