Hero Motocorp unveils a range of updated two-wheelers

Hero Motocorp has unveiled a total of 15 new offerings including the Splendor I-Smart, Karizma R & ZMR, Xtreme & Pleasure. Hero has also promised to showcase more two-wheelers on new platforms at next year's Auto Expo.

100cc Splendor iSmart with ‘i3S Technology’: The new i3S technology (Idle Stop and Start System) for two-wheelers will make its debut in new Splendor iSmart. i3S is a technology that automatically shuts the engine when idling and turns it on when needed, thus giving more mileage in traffic conditions. HMCL has already filed for patent for the i3S technology.

100cc Pleasure with ‘Integrated Braking System’: Integrated Braking System (IBS) that is being introduced in the new Pleasure. IBS provides comfort of one brake handle for both front and rear wheels. HMCL is currently selling an average of over 55,000 units per month with its two existing scooter brands – the 100cc Pleasure and 110cc Maestro. The Pleasure also gets features like mobile charger socket, lockable glove box, boot light in luggage box, combination ignition lock with seat opening and side stand indicator.

150cc Xtreme with ‘Electronic Immobiliser’: The Electronic Immobiliser will debut on the new 150cc Xtreme. It is a security device that prevents the engine from running without the correct key. Another important introduction that will offer utmost safety to the premium segment Hero commuters is the side stand switch with automatic ignition cut-off. Apart from this, the new Xtreme will come with a new speedometer, new headlight with eyebrow lights, new LED tail light with light guides & a mobile charger socket.

223cc Karizma & ZMR: The bike has received a major change in terms of the design and now gets a twin headlight, new handle bar, new belly pan, new front fender, new muffler cover, bulb winker, step-up seats, new side and front faring & wider tyres. Rumours suggest that the face lifted Karizma engines will generate more power, but we will have to wait for the figures till the specification sheet is out.
