Global NCAP: Skoda Slavia & VW Virtus get 5-star safety rating

The cars received 29.71 points for adult occupant safety and 42 points for child occupant protection.

The Skoda Slavia and Volkswagen Virtus have been awarded a 5-star safety rating by Global NCAP. The cars received 29.71 points for adult occupant safety and 42 points for child occupant protection.

In the front impact test, the protection offered to the driver and passenger’s head and neck was good. Chest protection for both front occupants was adequate, while the knees showed good protection. The cars offered adequate protection to the driver’s tibias and good protection to the passenger’s tibias. The footwell area and bodyshell were rated as stable.

In the side impact test, protection for the head, chest and abdomen was rated as adequate, while the pelvis showed good protection. The curtain airbags offered good protection to the head, abdomen and pelvis in the side pole impact test, while protection to the chest was rated as marginal.

The child seat for the 3-year-old was able to prevent head exposure during the frontal impact test, offering full protection. The child seat for the 18-month-old was also able to prevent head exposure during the test. Both child restraint systems (CRS) offered full side impact protection.
