Ford Figo Aspire launch on 12th August

A concept showcase before the 2014 auto expo, the official reveal at the inauguration of Ford's Sanand plant, multiple showcases across the country and Ford is now going to launch the Figo Aspire on 12th August. The compact sedan is Ford's attempt to take advantage of the popular sub-4 metre sedan segment and the car will take on rivals including the Hyundai Xcent, Honda Amaze, Tata Zest and the current segment leader i.e. the Maruti Dzire.

The Figo Aspire will be available with a choice of three engine and two transmission options:

- A 1.2L petrol engine that makes 87 BHP @ 6,300 rpm and 112 Nm of torque @ 4,000 rpm, mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox.
- A 1.5L diesel engine that makes 99 BHP @ 3,750 rpm and 215 Nm of torque @ 1,750 - 3,000 rpm, mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox.
- A 1.5L petrol engine that makes 110 BHP @ 6,300 rpm and 136 Nm of torque @ 4,250 rpm, that will be offered only with a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.

The Figo Aspire comes equipped with features such as dual-front airbags as standard, while the top end variant comes equipped with 6 airbags. The sedan will also feature Ford's SYNC with app-link for improved connectivity and a multi-function display screen. Lower variants come with a mobile phone dock through which users can connect their mobile phone or navigation device to the car. Other features include leather upholstery and the Ford MyKey. The car will be available in 7 colour options, namely - ruby red, sparkling gold, oxford white, tuxedo black, deep impact blue, ingot silver and smoke grey.

The Figo Aspire will be the first car produced at Ford's Sanand plant and Ford will be exporting the sedan to other markets as well. Apart from the Figo Aspire, Ford will also be launching the new Figo hatchback and new Endeavour this year.
