Fiat Linea successor debut at Istanbul motor show

Earlier this year, Fiat’s new compact sedan (Linea successor) was spied on test in Europe. The new model will reportedly be underpinned by the small-wide architecture that was also used in the development of the Jeep Renegade and Fiat 500X.

While the Indian debut of the new model is still a while away, Fiat has announced that a new compact sedan will make its public debut at the upcoming Istanbul motor show (22 to 31 May, 2015). It is in all likelihood, the successor to the Fiat Linea. [UPDATE] The Italian automaker has also released a teaser image, showcasing the car's C-shape tail light, new body panels, and redesigned bumper and boot-lid.

The sedan has been designed by the FCA style centre, jointly with Tofas R&D. The new Fiat compact sedan will be produced in Turkey, at the Tofas factory in Bursa. Sales will begin in Turkey next November and continue in over forty countries in the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) regions. The sedan in question is expected to replace the current Linea, and it is widely believed that the model will drop the Linea badge in favour of a new name altogether. Further details will be revealed at the motor show.
