Ducati has announced the launch of the Monster SP in India. The bike is priced at Rs 15.95 lakh (ex-showroom), and bookings are now open across all Ducati dealerships in Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kochi, Chandigarh, Ahmedabad and Kolkata.
The Monster SP comes in a special MotoGP-inspired livery. It features an LED headlamp with a small flyscreen up front and a passenger seat cowl. The bike is equipped with a 4.3-inch colour TFT display that has a built-in lap timer.
The Monster SP is powered by a 973cc, V-twin engine that produces 110 BHP @ 9,250 rpm and 93 Nm @ 6,500 rpm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox with a bi-directional quick-shifter.
The Monster SP comes equipped with an adjustable 43 mm Ohlins upside-down fork that is said to be 0.6 kg lighter than the one used on the standard Monster. It gets twin 320 mm discs up front with Brembo Stylema brake calipers and a 245 mm disc at the rear. It also gets a Termignoni twin-can exhaust, a steering damper and a lightweight lithium-ion battery.
The Monster SP is offered with several electronic aids, including cornering ABS, traction control, and wheelie control, along with three riding modes: Sport, Touring and Wet.
