Ducati Monster Senna Edition globally unveiled

Marks the 30th death anniversary of the F1 icon.

Ducati has unveiled a special limited edition version of its Monster, called the 'Senna Edition'. As the name suggests, the Ducati Monster Senna Edition is based on F1 legend Ayrton Senna. The motorcycle features a number of exclusive updates, both mechanical and cosmetic, including a special colour scheme.

The Ducati Monster Senna Edition will be limited to just 341 units globally - '3' representing the number of times he won the F1 world driver's championship and '41' being the number of F1 races he won.

Starting off with the cosmetic updates, the Senna edition consists of Yellow, Green and Blue - the colours on the Brazilian flag as well as Senna's racing helmet. The wheels, belly pan and brake calipers are yellow, the seat is blue with green sprinkled around different bits of the body panels. The special edition Ducati Monster also has the 'Senna' logo and the words 'Racing is in my blood' written on the rear of the motorcycle. Each motorcycle also comes with a numbered plaque on the handlebars, while owners will also get a specialised motorcycle cover.

Ducati has also made a few mechanical changes to the special edition motorcycle. The Senna edition weighs 4 kg less than the standard model. The bike features fully adjustable Ohlins suspension at both the front and rear, forged aluminium wheels, carbon-fibre mudguards & engine guards, while the footpegs are made from billet aluminium. The engine though, remains unchanged, using the same 937cc L-twin cylinder liquid-cooled unit. It produces 110 BHP and 93 Nm.

The Ducati Monster Senna Edition was launched to mark the 30th death anniversary of the F1 icon. The bike is priced at $25,000 in the US market.
