Dealer books wrong Mahindra XUV 3XO colour & model, fails to correct it

I reached out to Mahindra on X but they forwarded my complaint to the same dealer who hasn't responded in the last 12 days.

BHPian G-Drive recently shared this with other enthusiasts.

I have had a similar and worse experience with a dealer changing my Mahindra XUV 3XO booking multiple times without my consent.

Here is the story with this dealer from Bangalore:

  • Booked AX7L Petrol AT on 3rd May by paying 21k. Got a paper receipt as the online booking was to open only on May 15th.
  • Confirmed the color as Nebula Blue on May 10th.
  • Dealer books Galaxy Grey instead of Nebula Blue on May 16th after the online booking opens.
  • After days of follow-up to change the color to Nebula Blue, the dealer confirmed that the color had been changed in the system on May 22nd.
  • Online status, however, shows that the dealer has changed the color to Stealth Black, instead of Nebula Blue. Wrong color again!
  • Dealer confirms that the colour was corrected to Blue on May 23rd. Online shows Blue on May 23rd.
  • 8th June, Dealer calls to congratulate me on the car allotment. They want to confirm the variant as AX5L Diesel Black while what I have booked from day 1 is AX7L Petrol Nebula Blue.
  • Online status shows the color is now changed to Black again from Blue.
  • Dealer says their system is showing Blue. He sends me a booking reference that says the color is A3OBNBLKGG. He insists this means Nebula Blue.
  • I tweet to Mahindra customer care on X, asking the meaning of A3OBNBLKGG. They forward my complaint to the dealer. No response from the dealer so far, after 12 days.

Frustrated, I made a booking with another dealer on 10th June, losing my seniority from May 3rd/16th to June 10th now.

Here's what BHPian khanmaj had to say about the matter:

This is ridiculous how they have been handling your booking. It is sheer incompetency. If you're still facing the issues, it might be beneficial to escalate the matter to Mahindra customer support.

I sent an email to customer support and got a call from the Sales head of the dealership within 2 hours. He informed me that my booking details would be corrected and I would get the vehicle as soon as it was available. It’s all words and talks. The booking status is still showing the wrong vehicle.

He also indirectly confirmed that MX1, MX2, and MX2 Pro along with the top AX7 variants are yet to be in the production line. This proves again that Tata and Mahindra don’t have the capabilities to launch a completely niggle free product like MS and Hyundai-Kia. I still have an XUV500 from the early 2012 batch, an amazing mile-munching machine but plagued with electrical and electronic failures.
