China: Production-ready Suzuki Alivio (Maruti Ciaz) spied

A Chinese automotive website has put up pictures of what is believed to be a production-ready version of the Suzuki Alivio. The sedan was first revealed at the 2014 Auto Expo as the Ciaz. It made its debut in China at last month's Beijing Motor Show.

The Alivio has a large chrome grille, projector headlamps, and tail lamps that are shaped similarly to those we saw in the concept. The bumpers too seem to have been carried over from the concept, but the fog lamps have been changed. At the rear, the Alivio gets dual exhausts with their tips housed in the rear bumper. The tiny wing mirrors that were seen on the concept have been replaced by larger, more practical ones. The wheels of the car do not appear to be different from those of the concept.

When the Ciaz goes on sale in India, it is likely to feature a toned-down styling. It is expected to be powered by a 1.4-litre, K-Series petrol engine from the Ertiga. The car will also be available with the Ertiga's 1.3-litre, 90 bhp DDiS diesel motor.

Autocar India reports that the Ciaz will measure 4545 mm in length, 1730 mm in width and 1475 mm in height. The car's dimensions will ensure that it has spacious interiors. The report claims that the manufacturer has stressed on rear-seat comfort.

The Ciaz will replace the SX4 sedan in India. It is expected to be launched in the second half of 2014.
