Checked out the Thar Roxx MX5 variant in-person: 8 crucial observations

Coming to the music system, I feel they could've done a tad bit better. Tata has better audio config with Harman.

BHPian Gixxy.danger recently shared this with other enthusiasts:

A trip to the Cars24 Hub resulted to an impromptu visit to a Mahindra showroom as I spotted a white Thar Roxx being brought in.

The White Thar Roxx was the top of the line 4X4 variant, which only comes in diesel at the moment.

Surprisingly there was an MX5 Variant on display as well.

Few pictures to throw some visual details for the same. We all have been bombarded with photos of the top-end variant. From all angles, to say the least.

Luckily, I was able to tag along as a back-seat passenger on one of the first customer test drive for the Thar Roxx. The gentleman was a spirited driver whose daily is a VW Vento.

Observations from the back bench:

1. Gearbox is smooth, power delivery is not in your face but grasps speed briskly.
2. NVH is on point. I had to confirm with sales rep whether it is a petrol variant. Road noise and tire noise were very well contained.
3. Body-roll is present. Quite present given the type of vehicle. I daily a Linea, I felt a hint of nausea as the gentleman's driving was quite spirited. Pitch and yaw isn't significant.
4. One thing to point out, the visibility you get from the back-seat is surprisingly a lot. As good as being in the driver's seat. No one will claustrophobic.
5. Ingress, a big step required.
6. Fit and finish, on par.
7. Music system, I feel they could've done a tad bit better. Tata has better audio config with Harman.
8. The raised roof is not at all awkward in person. The other exterior details take your attention away from it.

Winner-winner chicken dinner for Mahindra.
