Royal Enfield has launched the Himalayan with a BS6 compliant engine. The bike is priced from Rs. 1.87 lakh (ex-showroom).
Royal Enfield has re-introduced the hazard light switch on the new Himalayan. The bike also comes with a revised instrument cluster.
The Himalayan is powered by a BS6 compliant 411cc, single-cylinder, fuel-injected engine that produces 24.3 BHP @ 6,500 rpm and 32 Nm @ 4,000-4,500 rpm. The engine is mated to a 5-speed gearbox.
The Himalayan rides on 41 mm forks offering 200 mm of travel at the front and a monoshock at the rear with 180 mm of travel. It is equipped with 300 mm and 240 mm disc brakes at the front and rear respectively. The bike has dual-channel ABS, wherein ABS for the rear wheel can be switched off.
The updated Himalayan comes in 6 colour options - Snow White, Granite Black, Rock Red, Lake Blue, Gravel Grey and Sleet Grey.
