BMW G 310 R-based adventure motorcycle spied

An adventure-inclined iteration of the BMW G 310 R has been spied without any camouflage in Europe. This model is likely to be called the BMW G 310 GS, and will target touring and off-roading enthusiasts. It will probably be unveiled at EICMA 2016. The German two-wheeler manufacturer is expected to bring its entire bike line-up to India in the near future. Hence, there is a high chance that the G 310 GS will be launched here.

This will be the third motorcycle coming out from the BMW Motorrad - TVS Motors Joint Venture, after the BMW G 310 R and the TVS Akula 300. Media reports suggest that the adventure bike will be developed by BMW in Germany, while production will take place at the TVS plant in Hosur.

Though the GS will most probably be sharing many components with its naked sibling, the spy shots reveal some major changes to make the bike more off-road friendly. This includes a long travel suspension, special off-road tyres, a higher ride height, and new front fairing that looks similar to bigger adventure motorcycles form the manufacturer.

Powering the small GS adventure motorcycle will be the same 313 cc, liquid-cooled engine that develops 34 BHP and 28 Nm of torque that is found in the G 310 R. However, the powertrain might be retuned in order to suit touring and adventure riding requirements.
