Best pictures of the Tata Kite (Glade) so far

A big thank you to Aadesh Jain for sharing these images with other enthusiasts.

Here are some more images of the Tata Kite (or Glade as it is likely to be named). The vehicle is expected to slot just above the Nano in the company's line-up and will be rolled out from the Tata Motors plant at Sanand (Gujarat).

The Kite is expected to sport Tata's new design language that has been seen on the Zest and Bolt twins. At the front, the car gets a smiling front fascia, a honeycomb mesh grille and bulging headlights. The rear of the car will see modern wraparound tail lamps and a curved hatch with a roof-mounted spoiler.

On the inside, the car is expected to get a three-spoke, multifunction steering wheel, air-conditioning and a Harman-developed audio system with Bluetooth, USB and Aux-in connectivity. Many parts will be borrowed from the Zest and Bolt to keep production costs low.

The Kite is likely to come with a choice of two engines:

  • 1.05-litre, 3-cylinder, common rail diesel
  • 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder petrol

LPG, CNG and AMT or e-clutch-equipped variants are expected as well. A compact sedan based on the Kite is also being tested.
