Austrian GP: Rosberg wins it for Mercedes

Nico Rosberg snatched the chequered flag this weekend, as the Mercedes driver managed to hold a strong lead, even though Lewis Hamilton started from pole position. The opening lap also saw a major crash, which dented Hamilton's offensive to get back ahead. Fernando Alonso’s McLaren and Kimi Raikkonen's Ferrari made contact, causing both cars to crash into the outer wall. The Mclaren went on climbed onto the Ferrari, with Alonso's rear tyre almost driving over the ice-man's head.

Felipe Massa placed 3rd, with Sebastian Vettel clinching 4th place with the one Ferrari that remained. Vettel lost time getting a wheel changed during a pit stop and the delay was enough for Ferrari to lose another opportunity to reach the podium - despite the German putting up a great fight.

Valtteri Bottas drove his Williams into 5th place with Force India's Nico Hulkenberg and Sergio Perez placing 6th and 9th respectively. Lotus’s Pastor Maldonado and Toro Rosso’s Max Verstappen were engaged in an intense fight for 7th place, with Maldonado almost crashing in an attempt to get ahead. Maldonado managed to come out on top with Verstappen placing 8th.

Daniel Ricciardo rounded off the top ten with the Red Bull taking 1 point from the race.
