Hyundai Elite i20: 1 lakh cars in 11 months

Hyundai has announced that the Elite i20 hatchback has crossed the cumulative sales mark of 1,00,000 units in India. The car has achieved this milestone in just eleven months since its launch on August 11, 2014.

The Hyundai Elite i20 is Hyundai's best-selling car in India and slots into second place behind the Maruti Suzuki Swift in the B2 segment. It entered the list of top 10 selling cars in India within two months of its launch.

The Elite i20 was designed at Hyundai Motor's Design Centre Europe in Russelsheim, Germany. It features the brand's "Fluidic Sculpture 2.0" design philosophy.

The Elite i20 is available with a choice of two engines:

• Petrol - 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder, Kappa Dual VTVT, 82 bhp @ 6000 rpm, 115 Nm @ 4000 rpm, 5-speed manual gearbox
• Diesel - 1.4-litre, U2 CRDi, 89 bhp @ 4000 rpm, 220 Nm @ 1500-2750 rpm, 6-speed manual gearbox
