Audi A4 1.4 TFSI imported for homologation

Records show that earlier this month, Audi has imported one unit of the all-new A4 sedan with a 1.4-litre petrol engine into India for homologation.

This suggests that Audi is likely to offer the engine on the car when it goes on sale in the country. This is a 1,395cc, 4-cylinder turbocharged unit that produces 148 BHP and 250 Nm of torque. The car is expected to sport a 30 TFSI badge.

Audi had revealed the new A4 in June 2015 (click here to read report). Apart from the 1.4-litre petrol unit, the car gets a 2.0-litre petrol and 2.0-litre and 3.0-litre diesel engines.

The new A4 will make its public debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show, which is scheduled to be held in September. In India, it is expected to be launched in 2016.
