Aprilia SR 150 production commences in Baramati

Piaggio had displayed the Aprilia SR 150 at the 2016 Auto Expo last month (click here to read report). Now, according to a report by Overdrive, Piaggio has commenced production of the sport-scooterbike at its plant in Baramati, Maharashtra.

The Aprilia SR 150 has a distinct handlebar with integrated turn indicators and the headlight is integrated in the front apron. The scooterbike also gets sporty decals and a split grab rail. Other features include an analogue instrument cluster, a single contoured seat and 14-inch black alloy wheels.

Powering the SR 150 is a 150cc, single-cylinder, 4-stroke air-cooled petrol engine that develops 11.4 BHP and 11.5 Nm of torque. Stopping power comes from a 220 mm disc brake at the front and a 140 mm drum brake at the rear. Suspension duties are carried out by a 32 mm hydraulic telescopic fork at the front and a single hydraulic shock absorber at the rear.

The Aprilia SR 150 is scheduled to be launched in India in August 2016.
