The fuel efficiency seems to be somewhere in the higher 30s and the highway performance is identical to my ex-Royal Enfield Meteor 350.

Went for a ride : Pimpri-Chinchwad - Panchgani (Via Kudal) and back - Odo final reading 700 km. Adding pics and additional observations below:
- Covered 300+ kms (up and down) of city, highway and ghat sections with absolute ease - comfort is really good. In certain conditions, it feels like literally gliding over roads. No back ache or body pain post ride. For reference I took my Burgman to Mahabaleshwar last time and had back and body pain for a couple of days afterwards.
- The highway performance is identical to my ex-Meteor 350 - you can cruise at 100 kph all day. The vehicle is butter smooth in the 90-100 kph region. You can do even prolonged cruises at top speed (120 indicated) without sweating too much. I wish it had a 6th gear, which would have resulted in higher cruise speed/lesser rpm.
- Brilliant handling for a 195 kg bike. It feels planted on corners even when subjected to mid-corner bumps and broken patches.
- Brakes feel adequate - no surprises during the ride.
- FE seems to be somewhere near the upper end of the 30s. Not sure, but the entire trip was covered by consuming a lil bit more than half a tank of shell standard petrol.
Overall I'm very happy with "Hammerhead" as it meets all my objectives and some more. It is a laid-back classic motorcycle when you want to take in the scenery and click some pics, with that thumpy exhaust providing the best BGM. But it can morph into a capable mile mucher whenever required - providing excellent performance, and comfortable and dynamic capabilities.
