Honda is gearing up to launch the second-generation Amaze on May 16, 2018. The new Amaze will be available with two engine options and 4 variants - E, S, V and VX.
The new Amaze was first revealed at the 2018 Auto Expo. It is based on an all-new platform and features a new design package. The front fascia is more upright and features a thick chrome garnish. The headlights get integrated L-shaped LED DRLs, while the front bumper houses a set of fog lamps. The car has redesigned boot lid with new tail lamp clusters and ORVMs with integrated LED turn signals. The new Amaze gets dual-tone interiors with a 3-spoke multi-functional steering wheel and a twin-pod instrument cluster, while the centre console houses a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system.
The new Amaze will be offered with a choice of two engines. The 1.2-litre petrol unit makes 89 BHP @ 6,000 rpm and 110 Nm of torque @ 4,800 rpm. The 1.5-litre diesel engine produces 99 BHP @ 3,600 rpm and a peak torque of 200 Nm @ 1,750 rpm. Both engines will be available with either a 5-speed manual gearbox or a CVT. Compared to the diesel MT, the diesel automatic version has slightly less power and torque. The engine makes 79 BHP and 160 Nm.
Earlier this month, Honda had opened its order books for the second-generation Honda Amaze. Dealerships are accepting bookings for a token amount of Rs. 21,000.
