2nd-gen Honda Amaze bookings open

Pre-bookings for the second-generation Honda Amaze have commenced. Customers will be able to book their cars at Honda dealerships across the country by paying a sum of Rs. 21,000. The car will be officially launched in May 2018.

The second-generation Amaze is based on an all-new platform. It gets a redesigned exterior, featuring a new grille with a thick chrome garnish flanked by a set of new headlamps with integrated L-shaped LED DRLs. At the rear, the car gets a new boot lid and revised tail lamp clusters. Inside the cabin, the Amaze gets a new dashboard and a three-spoke multi-functional steering wheel. It gets a touchscreen infotainment system and features like automatic climate control, cruise control, parking sensors with reverse camera, keyless entry and go among others.

The new Honda Amaze will be offered with petrol and diesel engines. The current 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder petrol with 87 BHP and 109 Nm as well as the 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder diesel with 99 BHP and 200 Nm of torque is likely to be carried over. Both engines come paired with a 5-speed manual transmission. According to Honda, the new Amaze will get a continuously variable transmission (CVT) option on the diesel engine. In the outgoing Amaze, the petrol engine was available with a CVT option.
