2023 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170 with 1025 BHP unveiled

These numbers make the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170, the fastest accelerating and quickest production car in the world, beating the likes of the Bugatti Chiron and Rimac Nevara.

Dodge has unveiled the final iteration of its V8-powered muscle car, the Challenger in the form of the SRT Demon 170.

The new 2023 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170 comes with mind-boggling specs, from a completely reworked 6.2-litre supercharged V8 engine. It draws inspiration from the original Demon and shares its DNA with the "Hellephant C170" crate engine. The car gets a 3.0-litre supercharger, with 40% more boost pressure when compared to the SRT Hellcat Redeye Widebody.

The updated engine is compliant with both E85 and E10 fuel. When running on E85 fuel, the engine produces a peak power output of 1,025 BHP @ 6,500 rpm and 1,281 Nm @ 4,200 rpm. This allows the SRT Demon 170 to accelerate from 0-60 mph (0-98 km/h) in just 1.66 seconds and complete a quarter-mile in NHRA-certified 8.91 seconds at 151.17 mph (243.2 km/h). The power reduces slightly when running on E10 fuel to 900 BHP and 1098 Nm.

These numbers make the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170, the fastest accelerating and quickest production car in the world, beating the likes of the Bugatti Chiron and Rimac Nevara.

Dodge has made plenty of structural, exterior and interior changes to the Demon 170 to be able to handle the power output from the engine. 3,300 units of the muscle car have been planned for production, 300 of which will go on sale in Canada while the remaining will be offered in the USA. Dodge will start production of the Demon 170 in July 2023, and the muscle car will be offered with a price tag of just a little over $96,000.
