2020 Hyundai Sonata unveiled

Hyundai has unveiled the 2020 Sonata. The eighth-generation model is inspired by the Le Fil Rouge concept that was showcased at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show, which features a four-door coupe body style. 

The new Sonata is 45 mm longer and 25 mm wider than its predecessor. The car has been lowered by 30 mm and the wheelbase has increased by 35 mm. It features Hyundai's Digital Pulse Cascading Grille at the front flanked by 4-pod headlamps that have integrated LED daytime running lights. A U-shaped chrome strip runs across the front bumper. There is also a chrome strip around the windows and it extends on to the front fenders. At the rear, the new Sonata gets an LED light bar and U-shaped tail lamp clusters that look almost similar to those on the Honda Civic.

The new Sonata has a dual-tone interior finished in grey and tan. The dashboard has a touchscreen infotainment system in the centre and slim air-conditioning vents. The car has a 4-spoke multi-function steering wheel with satin chrome inserts and a twin-pod instrument cluster with a central MID. The new model comes with shift-by-wire transmission controls.

Hyundai is yet to reveal the powertrain options that will be available on the new Sonata. The new model is likely to be launched in the international market later this year.
