2017 Yamaha YZF-R15 V3.0 spotted undisguised in Indonesia

The next-gen Yamaha YZF-R15 Version 3.0 has been spotted without any camouflage in Indonesia. It is expected to be launched internationally by mid-2017.

The spy shot reveals that the new R15 will come with slimmer twin-headlamps and an updated front faring. There is an opening in the middle of the two headlamps, similar to what we have seen on the R6 and the R1. The side faring appears to be more aggressively designed, while the fuel tank will also get more contours.

The spy shot further reveals that the Version 3.0 will come with up-side down (USD) forks at the front, while the rear is expected to continue with a link type monocross setup. Other details leaked till now suggest that the new R15 will get a fully digital instrument cluster and optional ABS.

There is no information yet about the bike's powertrain setup. Some reports suggest that it will be equipped with a 155 cc single-cylinder engine. Yamaha had earlier indicated that new R15 will be faster and more powerful than the Version 2.0 which has a 149 cc engine and makes 17 BHP and 15 Nm of torque.
