2016 Pajero Sport spied undisguised

The 2016 Pajero Sport has been spotted undisguised ahead of its scheduled global reveal on August 1, 2015 in Thailand.

The SUV sports swept-back headlamps with what appears to be LED DRLs. A twin slat chrome grill accommodates the Mitsubishi logo in chrome. There are C-shaped chrome inserts on either sides of the front air-intake. Fog lamps appear to be positioned quite low. The bonnet is concave-shaped.

The side profile features 17 or 18" alloy wheels, chrome ORVMs, side step and wide wheel arches, giving it a beefed up look. The window line (in chrome) is sloping upwards towards the rear, similar to the Outlander but a lot less angled.

The rear of this car features uniquely-shaped tail-lamps and a chrome number plate garnish. This variant features, front and reverse parking sensors and rear wiper + washer too.

The 2016 Pajero Sport is likely to be powered by a 2.4 litre diesel engine which produces 178 BHP and 430 Nm of torque. It is likely to go on sale in international markets in 2016. When launched in India, it will rival the Ford Endeavour, Toyota Fortuner and the Chevrolet Trailblazer.
