13-year-old racing prodigy Shreyas Hareesh dies in INMRC crash

Shreyas was the youngest Indian racer to compete and win in the INMRC.

13-year-old bike racer, Shreyas Hareesh, tragically lost his life during Round 3 of the Indian National Motorcycle Racing Championship (INMRC), held at the Madras International Circuit.

According to media reports, Shreyas suffered a fatal head injury after a crash at Turn 1 during the TVS Rookie race. He was rushed to a nearby hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival. The organizers cancelled the remainder of the round in the wake of the accident.

Shreyas was an emerging star in the Indian bike racing scene. He made his debut in INMRC in 2021 and became the youngest Indian to compete and win races in the championship. Recently, he had been racing in the TVS One-Make Championship in the Rookie (RTR 200) class.

An aspiring MotoGP racer, he had won the Indian leg of the MiniGP championship and represented the country at the world finals. Shreyas was also set to compete in the Malaysian Superbike Championship later this year.
