Lamborghini has launched its latest iteration of its performance SUV, the Urus, in India. The Urus SE, which made its global debut in April this year, is now available in India at a price of Rs 4.57 crore.

Lamborghini sold 103 units in India in 2023; a new record!

The United States remains the single largest market for the brand, with over 3,000 vehicles delivered.

Lamborghini reported its best-ever sales in 2023. The Italian supercar brand sold 10,112 units globally, out of which 103 units were shipped to India - a new record.

Unsurprisingly, the Lamborghini Urus topped the sales charts with 6,087 units, followed by the Huracan, of which, 3,962 units were sold. Lamborghini also dispatched 63 cars from its flagship V12 range, which included 12 Aventadors and 51 limited edition models.

If you look at the region-wise sales, around 4,000 units were sold in Europe - a growth of 14%. The Americas recorded a 9% growth with 3,465 deliveries, and 2,660 cars were sold in the Asia-Pacific region, 4% more than the previous year.

The United States remains the single largest market for the brand, with over 3,000 vehicles delivered. Other top markets included China, Germany, the UK, Japan, the Middle East and South Korea.

Powering the Urus S is the familiar 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine that makes 657 BHP and 850 Nm. The engine is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission and an all-wheel drive system.

The SUV rides on air suspension and comes with three drive modes: Strada, Sport and Corsa; and three additional off-road modes: Sabbia, Neve and Terra. Lamborghini claims a 0-100 km/h time of 3.5 seconds and a top speed of 305 km/h.

Under the skin, the Urus Performante gets a revised suspension setup that uses coil springs instead of air springs. The car sits 20 mm lower and is slightly wider and longer than the standard model. It comes with a new 'Rally' mode, alongside the existing Strada, Sport and Corsa modes for better off-road handling.

Earlier this year, Lamborghini delivered the 100th Urus SUV in India. The Urus is the most popular model in Lamborghini's lineup.

In 2020, despite the pandemic, Lamborghini delivered 50 Urus SUVs. In 2019, the carmaker sold 65 units of the Urus in India, posting a growth of 30% over the previous year.

This year, the company introduced the Huracan EVO RWD Spyder and the Huracan STO, along with the Urus Pearl Capsule and Graphite Capsule editions.
