Nissan Magnite facelift launched at Rs 5.99 lakh

The Magnite rivals the Renault Kiger, Tata Punch, Hyundai Exter, Maruti Fronx and Toyota Taisor.

Nissan has launched the Magnite facelift in India, with prices starting at Rs 5.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The compact SUV gets several cosmetic updates and new features.

The updated Magnite gets a wide front grille with chrome inserts on either side, giving it a bold look. It has sleek LED headlamps and L-shaped LED DRLs. The rear of the car hasn’t changed much, except for the revised LED taillights that have a smoked effect and a chrome insert in the centre. It rides on new 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels.

Inside, the Magnite facelift now features a dual-tone copper and black colour scheme. The 3-spoke steering wheel gets black inserts, while the seats are wrapped in dual-tone upholstery.

In terms of features, the Magnite comes with an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system paired with a 6-speaker Arkamys audio system, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, automatic climate control with rear AC vents, a wireless charger, a new I-Key, and a 360-degree camera. The compact SUV also gets automatic headlamps, an auto-dimming IRVM, and USB Type-C charging ports. 6 airbags are now offered as standard across all variants.

Powering the Magnite is the same 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that produces 71 BHP and 96 Nm, mated to a 5-speed manual or 5-speed AMT, and a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol unit that puts out 99 BHP and 160 Nm, paired with either a 5-speed manual or a CVT.

Nissan Magnite facelift images leaked ahead of launch

The Magnite facelift will be launched on October 4, with deliveries commencing a day later.

Nissan is all set to introduce the updated Magnite later this week. Images of the facelift version have leaked online just a day ahead of its launch.

The Magnite facelift features a new front grille with chrome inserts on either side, sharp-looking LED headlamps with L-shaped LED DRLs, and a redesigned front bumper.

The overall shape of the rear looks familiar, except for the smoked taillights, which are new. It has the Nissan logo and the ‘Magnite’ badge in the centre, while the rear bumper has a silver insert. Moreover, the bronze exterior colour is also new to the Magnite.

The updated Magnite has a dual-tone interior in brown and black. The dashboard has a clean design with hexagonal air-con vents and a large touchscreen infotainment system in the centre. It has a 3-spoke steering wheel with gloss black inserts and a front centre armrest.

The Magnite facelift is expected to be offered with the same set of engines as the current model. It includes a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder petrol and a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol unit. Nissan Magnite facelift bookings open in India

The Magnite will compete with the Renault Kiger, Maruti Fronx and Tata Punch in the compact SUV segment.

Nissan has started accepting bookings for the Magnite facelift ahead of its launch on October 4. Customers can place their orders by paying a token amount of Rs 11,000.

The updated Magnite will feature several cosmetic changes on the outside. It is expected to get a redesigned grille, reworked bumpers, updated headlamps with L-shaped LED DRLs and new taillamp clusters.

The compact SUV will also get additional features, including 20 first-in-segment features and over 55 active and passive safety features. We can also expect to see an upgraded infotainment system, new instrument cluster and upholstery.

The Magnite facelift is expected to be offered with the same set of engines as the current model. It includes a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder petrol and a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol unit. The Nissan Magnite is due for an update later this year. During a recent presentation, Nissan confirmed that the Magnite facelift will go on sale in India by the end of 2024.

The Nissan Magnite is due for a midlife makeover. Spy images of camouflaged prototypes are all over the internet. Now, for the first time, the updated crossover has been partially leaked.

A close look at the leaked image reveals a new front grille and headlamps that form a single visual unit. The headlamps seem to have been reprofiled and have a sharper look than before, while the L-shaped LED DRLs have been carried over unchanged. A silver faux skid plate is also visible in the image.

The Magnite is likely to receive a few updates on the interior as well. We’ve been told it will get a redesigned dashboard and offer additional features such as a single-pane sunroof and 6 airbags.

Nissan Magnite Geza CVT Special Edition launched at Rs 9.84 lakh

The Magnite Geza CVT is powered by a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine producing 99 BHP and 152 Nm.

Last year, Nissan introduced a special edition of the Magnite, called the 'Geza Special Edition'. The carmaker has now launched a CVT version on its 1st anniversary.

The Nissan Magnite Geza CVT Special Edition is priced at Rs 9.84 lakh (ex-showroom). The compact SUV is equipped with a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, a JBL sound system, rearview camera with trajectory lines and ambient lighting.

The Geza Edition gets special badges and comes with optional beige-coloured seat upholstery.

Powering the Magnite Geza CVT is a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine that produces 99 BHP @ 5,000 rpm and 152 Nm @ 2,200-4,400 rpm. The engine is mated to a continuously variable transmission (CVT).

Nissan Magnite recalled over door handle sensor issue

XE and XL variants of the Magnite produced between November 2020 and December 2023 have been affected by this recall.

Nissan Motor India has announced a voluntary recall of the Magnite over faulty door handle sensors.

According to the company, XE and XL variants of the Magnite produced between November 2020 and December 2023 have been affected by this recall. 

Nissan plans to retrofit new front door handle sensors on the affected vehicles. The company will be reaching out to the owners of the affected vehicles in April. They can get the replacement parts installed at Nissan service centres free of cost.

The Nissan Magnite is available in four trims – XE, XL, XV and XV Premium. It is powered by a 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that makes 70 BHP and 96 Nm and a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol that puts out 98 BHP and 152 Nm.
