VW Polo facelift spotted in India

The facelifted Volkswagen Polo has been spotted in India near the company's Pune factory.

The new Polo has got a new headlamp cluster, a new grille with a chrome strip running along the base, and a restyled front bumper with new fog lamps.  At the rear there is a new bumper with a reflector at each end and a different number plate housing.

The pictures suggest that interior of the car does not get any changes. The dashboard and other appointments look like they have been carried over from the current car.

On the mechanical front, the Polo is expected to get a 1.5-litre TDI engine, which is a downsized version of the 1.6 TDI engine. It will be available in two states of tune - 89 bhp and 104 bhp with a variable geometry turbo. The petrol engine line-up is likely to remain unchanged.

Volkswagen is expected to launch the Polo facelift in India later this year.
