Volvo S90 sedan spied!

Earlier this year, Volvo confirmed its plans of developing the S90 luxury sedan. The Volvo Concept Universe based model will be replacing the S80 and has been spied on a public road test in Amsterdam.

As stated by Volvo’s VP of product strategy, Lex Kerssemakers, the S90 will build upon the positive response garnered by the new XC90 SUV. Details remain limited for now, but the interior will most likely feature a clean and minimalist design like that of the XC90, while the exterior will feature a slimmer appearance than the S80. The heavily camouflaged test mule leaves a lot to the imagination. Engine options will include a range of four cylinder petrol and diesel mills, along with a plug-in hybrid variant.

Volvo has not confirmed a launch date, but reports suggest that the car could debut in the first half of C.Y 2016 at the Detroit or Geneva motor shows.
