Volvo releases the S90's first teaser images

Volvo's flagship S80 sedan is on its way out, and the teaser campaign for its successor has just begun. The Swedish automaker has published the first teaser images of the S90 sedan ahead of its expected debut at the 2016 Detroit motor show.

While the teaser leaves a lot to the imagination, what we can see are the Thor's hammer LEDs in the headlight, a chrome outline for the windows, a large rear quarter glass, and the C-shaped tail lights we saw in the oddly large number of scale model spy shots.

Engine options in Scalable Product Architecture (SPA) based car will include a range of four cylinder petrol and diesel mills, along with a plug-in hybrid variant. Like the S80, the new sedan will rival models like the Jaguar XF, Mercedes-Benz E-Class, BMW 5-Series and Audi A6.
