Volkswagen will soon be launching a new top-end Highline Plus variant of the Vento sedan. Models of the new variant have already started reaching dealerships across the country, though the automaker hasn't made an official launch announcement yet. A few more details of the Vento's new top-end trim have now surfaced, revealing some features of the upcoming variant.

Though it was earlier speculated that the Vento Highline Plus might come with a 1.4-litre TSI engine, it is now confirmed that the new variant will continue to be offered with the same set of engines that power the lower trims. As a result, the available engine options will include 1.2 TSI petrol, 1.5 TDI diesel and 1.6 MPI petrol.

Features added to the HL Plus variant will include LED headlamps with DRLs and a reverse camera that streams its output on the infotainment system's head unit, similar to the arrangement seen on the Ameo compact sedan. Interestingly, the 16-inch alloys that were seen on test mules of the Vento Highline Plus haven't made it to production, as the top-end trim will continue to be offered with the 15-inch alloys available with the lower trims.

Though Volkswagen hasn’t announced prices of the Highline Plus variant, media reports suggest that the ex-showroom Mumbai prices will be as follows:

• Vento HL Plus 1.6 Petrol MT - Rs. 11.39 lakh

• Vento HL Plus 1.5 TDI MT - Rs. 12.81 lakh

• Vento HL Plus 1.2 TSI DSG AT - Rs. 12.67 lakh

• Vento HL Plus 1.5 TDI DSG AT - Rs. 14.09 lakh
