Volkswagen has been testing the Polo GTI in India for a while now. The car was first spotted on our roads in July 2015.
Now, two more test mules of the car have been spotted. The first one is a 3-door version and the second is a 5-door version like the one spotted in 2015. The former was spotted on the outskirts of Mumbai, while the latter was spied in Pune.
The Polo GTI gets redesigned headlights with daytime running lights, redesigned bumpers, side skirts, double barrel exhaust and different alloy wheels compared to the regular Polo. Changes to the interior include aluminium pedals, GTI steering wheel and sports seats.
In international markets, the Polo GTI is powered by a 1.8-litre 189 BHP TSI petrol power plant. The engine is mated to a 6-speed manual or 7-speed DSG gearbox. Volkswagen claims that the car can do the 0-100 kph sprint in less than 7 seconds.
Volkswagen is likely to launch the Polo GTI in India later this year.
